Building the Concept
CBS (NE) Ltd is a nationwide construction company delivering construction, refurbishment, and fire protection services across the UK. Although the business itself was well established, its previous website did not reflect the scale, credibility, or their offerings.
The existing site was a single-page setup with minimal structure and no real optimisation. It didn’t support lead generation, communicate services clearly, or allow the business to present itself as a nationwide provider. The brief, delivered in partnership with Who’s Listening, was to create a professional, multi-page website that better represented the brand and actively supported growth.
The new site needed to clearly outline CBS’s services, communicate credibility, and provide space to share company information, sponsorships, news, and case studies. It also needed to support recruitment, allowing potential candidates to apply for roles through the website.
A key shift was moving from a one-page site to a full site architecture. Services were separated into dedicated pages, navigation was restructured around clear user journeys, and content was laid out with strong hierarchy and spacing. The design approach was brand-forward, ensuring the site felt professional, modern, and trustworthy without unnecessary complexity.
The Result
CBS now has a clear, professional online presence that reflects its position as a nationwide construction provider. The website communicates services effectively, supports lead generation through conversion-focused layouts, and provides clear pathways for enquiries and job applications.
The addition of a blog, news, and case study system allows the team to share updates and build credibility over time, while the flexible CMS makes ongoing content management straightforward. Overall, the site now works as an active business tool rather than a static placeholder.
